Fendi
Fendi does something almost no large house does, and which in our entire sample we had previously found only at a Swabian T-shirt manufacturer.

461 businesses, with names and street addresses
On 30 July 2026 we opened the “Traceability of Supply Chain” page on fendi.com. What stands there is not a statement of intent but a list: suppliers with company name, address, product category and headcount, plus a downloadable table.
The house states the country split itself — Italy 440, France 7, Spain 6, China 2, Switzerland 2, and one each in Portugal, Albania, India and Mauritius. 461 businesses in total. The text carries real names such as “GUIDA ITALY SRL” with the street, not just categories.
A list you can refute is a different thing from a promise you are asked to believe.
What that means inside its own group
Fendi has belonged to LVMH since 2000, as majority shareholding since 2001. In the same group, Loewe states no country of manufacture on its product page, and neither does Celine — both checked the same day.
That disposes of the convenient explanation that opacity is a property of the luxury segment or the industry. It is a property of the house. Fendi reaches the same disclosure level as Trigema, a Swabian T-shirt manufacturer — two companies with nothing in common but this.
The product
The Baguette 26424 in calfskin, article 8BR850B14MF0QA1, costs €2,700. The page states 100% calfskin and “Made in Italy”. The Baguette has existed since 1997; it and the Peekaboo are the bags the house is known for.
Fendi was founded in 1925 in Rome by Adele and Edoardo Fendi. Since 14 October 2025 Maria Grazia Chiuri has been Chief Creative Officer — she came from Dior, where she had stepped down from womenswear in May 2025. Another move within LVMH.
What the list does not do
It stops at direct suppliers.
Where yarn is spun and hides are tanned is largely absent from it. Tier 1 is a beginning, not a complete chain.
And it is not an audit report.
That a business is named says nothing about conditions inside it. We visited none of them and reviewed no audit.
Verifiable statements with a source, not a rating. We publish no ethics score of our own — for that, follow the external link.

What we cannot
- Where yarn is spun and hides are tanned — the list largely covers direct suppliers
- Conditions inside the named businesses; we visited none and reviewed no audit
- Which business makes which product — the list does not map article to plant
- Whether the acquisition year is exact; LVMH states 2000/2001, other accounts state 1999

Questions readers ask
Does Fendi really publish its suppliers?
Yes. The “Traceability of Supply Chain” page lists businesses with company names and addresses, plus a downloadable file. We opened it ourselves on 30 July 2026 and found the country split covering 461 businesses.
Where is Fendi made?
The product page we read states “Made in Italy”, and the supplier list places 440 of 461 businesses in Italy. Individual suppliers sit in France, Spain, China, Switzerland, Portugal, Albania, India and Mauritius.
Who owns Fendi?
LVMH. By its own account the group acquired the house in 2000 and became majority shareholder in 2001.
Is Fendi more transparent than other luxury houses?
On the supply chain, yes, and markedly so. In the same group, Loewe and Celine do not state even a country of manufacture on their product pages.
