One name, two meanings
Christian Dior founded his house in 1946; the founder died in 1957. Buying Dior today means buying an LVMH trademark, not one person’s hand. The same holds for Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger — here the distance is simply measured in decades.
It changes nothing about judging the goods. It is worth knowing if you believe you are buying a person’s label.
Disclosure
As with the other LVMH houses, we found no list of individual production sites. What that means against cheaper groups sits in the Louis Vuitton portrait.
